Errors to be Avoided While Designing Websites

admin — December 4, 2009 - 17:37

One of the important assets a web designer needs to have is an indepth understanding of the working of a website. Most often a website is rejected due to its “looks”. A good website eventually is a good combination of design and code. Following are some of the common website design mistakes.

1. The visitor should know what the product is within a couple of seconds. The site needs to communicate quickly before the visitor is distracted to move to another site.

2. Make the content easy to understand by using bullet points, headers, subheadings which assists the reader to filter what he/she is looking for.

3. Avoid using unreadable fonts. Flowery fonts may be impressive but it is hard to be read. Make sure that the font size is not too small and is legible.

4. Though flash components are fancy to look at, they invariably take time to load and may not always offer content that can be searched. It is not necesssary to to utilize fancy flash animation to grab the attention of the visitor.

7. Ensure that the contact details are included. The website will be not server its purpose without contact details.
