Illustrator or Photoshop

Most people who are into graphics and web designing use the popular softwares Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator Softwares.
Each of these softwares have their own unique features. In order to decide as to when to use which software, the discussion in this forum webdevforums.com/showthread.php?t=34069 titled “Photoshop vs Illustrator” would be of great help.
The following comment posted by dizignit.jason on Nov 30th seemed to be an appropriate one:
“Both Photoshop and Illustrator are very powerful programs but they both work with two very different forms of art. If you are editing pixel based art such as a photo then Photoshop is hands down the tool of choice. On the other hand vector based art is best edited/created in Illustrator. Illustrator bases its art on shapes and lines. With this said a designer can make a logo or other graphic and enlarge it to the size of a billboard and have no pixelization”
